Megan Ridler Age: 19
Megan has ridden games on the European stage since 2011 where she won the U14 team event. In 2014 Megan also finished up as a winner with her team in the U17 European Championships in Belgium and reserve champion in Worlds U17 in France. Megan has also open World Individual Champion in 2016. Furthermore she rides in the Premiership League of England and is looking forward to continuing her riding in Bath and West This summer.
Ellie Turner Age: 20
Ellie has been doing games since 2010 and rides for South Staffordshire. She has competed for England numerous times throughout her career which has included making the finals of World Individuals in both U17 and Open Level. Ellie has travelled to many places and is looking forward to having a great experience in South Africa. She is currently bringing on her novice pony and is hoping to win an individual competition.
Max Howell Age: 23
Max has been competing in games for 8 years now and has had his most successful season in 2016. During this season he managed to come first in both British pairs and in the Royal Welsh, where he competed for England. What made this experience more rewarding was that this was his pony’s first season in games. Max takes time to school and train his own ponies and is hopeful that his newest addition will replicate the success of his previous ponies.
Brett Robins Age: 20
Brett has been riding mounted games for 6 years and has participated in the English league representing Warwickshire at U17 level and Shropshire for the last 2 seasons. He represented Northern England at u17 level in 2013 and 2014, coming first and second, respectively. Brett is currently working to each his ultimate goal of representing his nation at the Royal Welsh, after achieving his goal of making the English Worlds team for 2017. He is excited about competing in this year’s World Team Championships and is looking forward to representing his country with honour.
Sarah Farnsworth Age: 25
Sarah has a vast amount of games experience and has ridden in Worlds twice before, in New Zealand in 2013 and in the USA in 2015, with the highest achievement coming in 2013, where England managed to be crowned reserve champions. She consequently spent a further 2 seasons in New Zealand winning titles such as 5 Nations International Individuals, Northland Pairs Champions, Horse of the Year Show Team Championships. Following WTC 2017 Sarah will be representing her country at the World Pairs Championships in France, before taking on a coach’s job for the National U17 team taking part in the U17 World Team Championships in New Zealand later this year.
Mellissa Cheeseman Age: 19
Mellissa has had a successful mounted games career up to this point, having won the U17 World Team Championships with her team in Florida in 2015. What made this achievement even more prestigious is that her team was the first team to have won on borrowed ponies. Furthermore, Mellissa has won the U14 European Team Championships in 2012 and has qualified three times for U17 World Pairs. Mellissa is excited to see South Africa and is looking forward to meeting new people and having an amazing time.
